Heres the deal and im looking for useful input on this. I may be looking at switching from my Socket 939 4800+ X2 w/ 2GB DDR-400 to a C2D E6600 w/ 2GB DDR-800. Wanting to get away from the 939 because it is no longer supported and only supports DDR1.
From what I've seen so far the e6600 looks to be a good 25% faster in some areas compared to the 4800+.
My question is do you think this would be a viable upgrade? I've already got an offer to buy my old hardware so I'm actually only looking at spending 200$ on switching over.
