After finding and reporting a major bug in 14.9 WHQL drivers, AMD decided to thank me by gifting me a new GPU, an XFX 295X2 !

Massive thanks to Roy for the gift and Cy for getting it to me!

More pics will follow, right now I'm about to install this beast and hope my PSU is up to the task!

Win & P does nothing when Eyefinity is enabled, and Eyefinity 3.0 is their new feature of these drivers

I would have left it in the box and flipped it on eBay, pronto.
Then bought two GTX 970's.

Anyway, that was nice of AMD to do. Clearly a publicity stunt though. He's one of the most active posters on Guru3D (Over 7000 posts since 2010).

That's awesome congrats, no hate from me. Doesn't matter what I or anyone else would have done with it either, cuz your the one who got it!

The Haters are ridiculous. I'm sure they would jizz in their pants if they got a poorer performing hotter running Titan-Z, though.

Congrats OP. I'm Jelly. Oh, even though my PSU won't run it if yours won't either, you can just semd it to me anyway. I'll buy a new PSU. I'll even make it an XFX to pay back with some loyalty, a bit. That and XFX market excellent PSU's anyway. ;)

props to amd. Looking at upgrading my 7950. Maybe i will find a golden bug.

Awesome! I think that's freaking excellent compensation. Man, say what you want about AMD taking over ATI but things have never been better suport-wise since AMD took over, Better Drivers, better and more responsive new game support, a better culture(debatable) etc..

Congrats whoever received that card. :)

not me...i would have kept it and enjoyed the shit out of it:D

I don't really see how people are trashing on 295X2s. I won't spend the money to upgrade to one, but the only major problem with the 290Xs was heat. So they give you a single-card, watercooled solution and it's garbage? lol. It's a free video card, and it's still a good performer particularly at high res.

It has higher aftermarket value than its actual price, I assume.
You could leave it in the box, sell it as new, and buy two 290X's for cheaper. Or you could buy two GTX 970's for even cheaper than that.

Point is, there's no reason to keep it.
Used 295X2's are selling for $800 on ebay right now. You could buy 3 290X's for that price.

Sure, that's simple economics. But to call it garbage is just dumb. It's a fine video card. And people may not have room in their case to run 3x 290Xs. I know for me personally single-card would be nice, as I'd like to have a standalone RAID card.

yeah I'm wondering if they still would have gifted him the card if it was a user with just a few posts who wasn't that active on the forums

Well, he not exactly the most polite user, so perhaps they didnt look

lol
