The only real competition for the 1300x are the R5s, if you are going really budget the G4560 can't be beat for MSRP. Going to wait and see some real head to head g4560 vs R 3 1200 videos to see if I want to ebay my new g4560.

Very good performance against the 7400 i5 especially O/C. No iGPU hurts but you can probably find something used very cheap that competes with thw intel iGPU.

I gotta say, these Ryzen 1300x reviews are impressing the hell out of me.

RIP i3!!

I mean, which would you choose, hypothetically?

Ryzen 1300X - $576

i3-7100 - $572

Bearing in mind, the 1300X is a true 4 core CPU and includes the Wraith Stealth cooler which will overclock to 3.9Ghz with a hand-clap....

Soon as I get home, I'm pitching this to the woman.

So long, P.O.S. a10-7800k "gaming computer" heh

looking at your sig, your CPU is even older than mine! I love it haha. I expect a meaningful upgrade in the next 1-2 years as Intel and AMD finally start pushing the envelope again

The lack of the igpu will hurt the sales, but for low end gaming with dgpu, its a no-brainer.

1. If G4560 didn't make i3 in general obsolete, R3 definitely did. No way I'd buy a 2C/4T over a 4C/4T for the same price.

2. What mojo did intel put into their G4560?! That chip just won't die! Seriously, this is getting absurd.

For general desktop or HTPC use a G4560 or G4600 are much better with the built in IGP, if you are building a budget gaming system the G4560 is still the better choice if you can get it at or under MSRP. At $80 I'd spend the extra $30 and get the 1200 and overclock it.

I've read talk of an R3 1100 later this year (could be below $100). I'm waitin to see if that materializes and to see how the newly released (when ever they hit the market) Bristol Ridge stuff is.
