Ok need some help

I am setting up a new machine

4690k +h97i
+5870

When I install the 14.4 drivers (haven't tried older yet) it will install but on the subsequent reboot I don't get my desktop

Just wallpaper and nothing. Can't run anything. Ctl alt del just produces a black screen

Any ideas?
 
Ok 13.12 produce the same problem.

All drivers are installed just can't get this one working
 
What windows?.. my 8.1 I have to hit caps lock for the wall paper to rise up and show log in screen.
 
I got it working finally, had a intel chipset driver that I had to manual assign to a device
