Which is, in relation to Ryzen, specific to AMD's chipsets/CPUs, as they licensed ASMedia's USB controller to be integrated into Ryzen, while Promontory probably has ASMedia PCIe multiplexers, and I'd assume SATA relation functions by them, too. (Apparently ASMedia designed, or is at least manufacturing, the Promontory chipset)
The problem is that this was presented as being specifically an AMD issue when the affected ASMedia chips are also in many Intel boards. It also sounds like they didn't mention ASMedia by name in the "whitepaper", all I saw was some highly editorialized blurb about AMD "irresponsibly using low quality Taiwanese chips with poor security"(paraphrased).
I don't know why you're bringing up other ASMedia chips that I haven't seen mentioned as being affected and on top of that you don't even seem to know if AMD is actually using them.
