AMD has just released new Catalyst 12.11 Beta 7 drivers. According to the release notes:

This driver introduces significant performance improvements for many games across ALL 28nm AMD Radeon™ HD 7000 Series products: HD 7700, HD7800 and HD7900.

Performance Highlights of the AMD CATALYST 12.11 BETA Driver
  • 10%-15% more performance in Battlefield 3 in most cases
  • More than 20% in certain missions and sequences (Comrades)
  • Up to 7% more performance in Metro 2033
  • Up to 10% more performance in DIRT Showdown
  • Up to 8% more performance in Sleeping Dogs
  • Up to 12% more performance in Civilization V
  • Up to 10% more performance in StarCraft II
  • Up to 8% more performance in Sniper Elite: V2

The 12.11 beta drivers severely limited my video overclocking last week, any word on if it was improved?
 
So is this an improvement over their current (already performance enhanced) drivers?

I.e. 10-15% on TOP of the 15% or so they released a few weeks ago?

Personally I'd be happy with some drivers that didn't give me wonky issues when it came to overclocking. I'm currently using 12.8 drivers because they are the only ones that don't give me weird graphic corruption when the core clock is low. (bascially I can overclock and as long as I have bitcoin or something GPU intensive running, I get zero corruption in Win8) Soon as the load on the GPU is removed, I get random screen tearing when doing little things in the OS.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2: AMD CrossFire performance has been improved in the AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta7 release (especially at higher resolutions – such as 2560x1600)

Thanks Steve. Hopefully this finally fixes the idle issue, tired of hotkeying it all the time
 
also, it fixes the skyrim shadows issue per AMD rep.

Same here.

EDIT, I was able to fix it by taking my one monitor off HDMI and putting it on DVI so that both monitors were on DVI, and then setting this option:

EDIT #2... nevermind, it still is tearing super bad. Going to try the 12.10's.

EDIT #3... tearing at the desktop is gone when on 12.10's and DVI frequency disabled. I do not recall having to set this option on the 12.3's that I came from.

well switching to an HDMI cable seems to fix the massive tearing and corruption I have when using a DVI cable and overclocking. Weird i know.
 
I was able to get rid of the tearing by unchecking both settings under the DVI properties hitting apply. Then checking both and hitting apply again. B*tch is after you reboot the tearing comes back and you need to do it again. Same issue with the 12.10 release drivers. I did not use driver cleaner for this install and just used the bundled uninstaller.. driver cleaner is my next stop. Maybe it's a leftover from a previous driver.

Nope.. clean install does not help. But the uncheck.. apply.. check.. apply trick still works. Missing the 12.4 already.

Updating Afterburner seems to have fixed the tearing.
