Wasn't sure what section of the forum to inquire about this, so I'll give it a shot here..

Still hanging on to my AM3+ platform and noticed I have that light silicone residue from the stock mosfet thermal pad behind the CPU socket. From my understanding, this is fairly common due to heat..etc..

Since I plan on running this system through 2019, I would like to pull the heatsink off, clean up the residue and replace the thermal pad..

Is this the one that would work in this situation:

I would think it would work if you trimmed it to fit. Might also look at replacing the plastic push pins with something a little more stable on the mounting bracket. Thickness of the pad is 1mm, and I'm not sure what the original thickness was on the pads.
