AM3+ mobo unlocking

I think that if the motherboard supports unlocking and the CPU is willing to help, the job is done. From Asrock's UCC:

Please be noted that UCC feature is supported with AM2+ / AM3 CPU only, also, not every AM2+ / AM3 CPU can support this function because some CPU's hidden core may be malfunctioned.)

Personally i just ordered the Asrock 970 Extreme3 , although i am not interested in core unlocking...

I had a ASRock M3A790GXH/128M AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX that had a 720 BE on it and it unlocked it just fine. I paid $100 in a NZXT case and sold it for $150 to a friend.

It was a nice rig...I know you said new but maybe you can find a used one.

My current board will do it but it is sold out. If you can find one they are real nice.

I paid $105

Have that ASRock 970 Extreme3... unlocked a 960t to a 6 core with a mild overclock and ran p95 for a half hour with no hiccups...
