If it's comparable in either battery life or price, I'd consider one over an m11x. Otherwise, my money still exists for the 11".

Also, how much of a difference in total size could a 15.6" vs a 14" notebook be? Are they eliminating the m15x? I think there's going to be quite a bit of overlap between the two in terms of price and performance...

I highly doubt the battery life will be comparable to the m11x given it's hardware. As for size, not entirely sure.. alienware laptops are usually very bulky and may end up saying it's a 14" laptop but in all actuality being a 15".

Its looks nice, will be a decent seller, how much is the weight for the laptop??

Friend has the m11x and he loves it. His only con however, is the screen size as with most users of the m11x. Just not that fun trying to squint looking at an 11 inch screen. 14" would be a great relief and I might even consider getting on just for LANing.

I just can't stand the styling on these things. Otherwise they seem like decent laptops.

Sounds pretty sweet. I actually have an M17x R3 on order. I'm just trying to imagine 1920x1080 on a 14" screen. I'd love it!

I have been wanting something like this forever, now they announce it right after I get my XPS 15 thats lacking a better gpu. :( Damn GT 540m.

I'm just a little confused still. How does this differ from the m15x? Outside of 1.5" of screen space.

Is Alienware discontinuing the m15x line?

To people saying this is the perfect computer for you, why is it more perfect than the m15x?

I just wish they offered a non "LOL COLOR HEAD ALINES" version of there damn computers. I have no room for their designs right now.

The only difference between the M17x and the M15X is 1.4" of screen space. ;)

The M15x is a hog. The M11x is a nice form factor but the screen is too small. Theres a nice niche in there waiting to be filled, though it probably would've made more sense to do something in the 13" range to differentiate a bit more.

if the dimensions of the laptop were small and that of a 14" envy but with alienware's 1080p screen that would be amazing... though i know alienware.. there going for bulky.

Agree. I have a M11x, and while i love it, the keyboard lights can shut off...but the silver alienware head doesnt go away, and the LED backlight for the screen illuminated the eyes whenever it's on.

Man, I'd give up my MBP for an Envy 14 with a 1080p screen!

considering the much smaller size of the m17x r3 vs r2, I'd guess so.

Why couldnt they put a better gpu?! This should be in the m11x, and the m14x should have atleast a 6770m or something.

I was hoping for a little more portability, even at the sacrifice of a little power. Looks like my next laptop won't be a "gaming" one.
