Anyone else notice that the new WDM drivers in 5.3 and 5.4 change the way your TV works?

As in, the sound is routed internally instead of through the line in connector?

As in, makes TV channel surfing very frustrating as each channel flip takes ~3 seconds to perform?

As in, it wasn't like this before?

The good ol' 9700 pro.

Was a real irritating experience to shuffle cat versions and then see if older WDMs would work with newer cats (they dont).

Eventually just reverted to the 5.2s, but thats 4 hours of my life gone trying to diagnose this.

well, i have one of the new BBA X800 XL agp AIW cards (im trying to figure out why i have texture and geometry terring in some games its random and sometimes doesnt accure.... any ideas what basic problems could cauase this (ATI based CAT 5.1 CP Non CCC edition) i upgraded from a Sapphire 9600XT didnt have this problem beofre even with the same drivers.

btw i find Media Player Classic as a good alternative to the ati media center, if you dont have it give it a try i like it

P.S. if you know of a better tv plater dont hesitate to pass word on it.

MMC 9.06.1 fixes channel change delay.

yeah.. mines fixed too.. I am using a AIW X800XL Agp. Woot! I am glad it wasn't a hardware issue. It seemed like it was a hardware issue giving that all the reviews talked about issues with it being a digital tuner.
