So I've just received an e-mail from buy.com saying that they will no longer have the Denon AH-D2000 headphones and that they have no clue on the ETA.

I've been looking on a couple other sites and the headphones are either too expensive or sold out.

So, here is where you come in. I need a downgrade from the Denons. Please recommend me headphones. My price range is $150-205.

I listen to a lot of music and do a lot of gaming.
I listen to a lot of electronica, techno, breakcore, hardstyle, almost any type of sound BUT country and rap.. I do listen to hip-hop and rnb sometimes. I listen to A LOT of DnB, amen breaks, all that stuff.

Please, [h] fellas, help me out! :D

I like my Beyer DT770s and Sony V6 if you still want closed. The Beyers are a bit nicer but definitely could use amplification, more so for the 250 ohm version, while the V6 are less fussy there (but can still use a bit if possible). The Sony V6 are very comfy as well after swapping the pads for velour, and the DT770s are once you get the headband tension / clamping force to STFU and behave.

For $205 (did you mean $250?) it probably wouldn't take that much looking to get both DT770s and a decent amp. Much easier if you get lucky on a used deal of course, but them's the breaks with AV gear.

FYI used D2000s seem to pop up fairly regular for $200-250 on head-fi...dunno if that changes anything for you.
