I have a 29 inch philips 2560x1080 ultrawide, but I find 1080 to be too low for me and I usually end up gaming on my 2560x1440 27 inch.

I see the 3440x1440 ultrawides seem to be popular but all I see is the curved screens that seem to cost a fortune.
Is there a decent priced non-curved ultrawide 1440?

Save up your pennies, sell your two old monitors, donate blood and get one of the 100hz 3440x1440 ultrawides with gsync....they are epic

Using a 4K TV with a custom resolution is a cool option. Definitely check out that thread Decibel linked to. I have that Samsung TV (KU6300) and it's really nice (though not quite as good as a monitor in some cases, like with the minor ghosting).

The advantage is that the TV is relatively cheap and you have the option of running either at full 4K (if you have the horse-power, or on older games) or with custom 21:9 aspect ratio. With a 40" TV, you can get an almost 38" image in 21:9 mode.

I've never used an ultra wide monitor, but I have a triple screen Nvidia Surround setup, so I have some idea of the pros and cons. Honestly, I almost like the 4K TV setup better than triple screens. At least give it a look.
