Good day all..

at present i am using a amd x250 ..dual core 3ghz with 8gb of ram... with a gts450..

I am looking at spending about 1200 USD on a new build... I will be shopping at tigerdirect.com since newegg doesnt accept international credit cards.

so far all i know is that i am aiming at a 7870 and a intel 520 120gb ssd.. and a good 1tb 7200 rpm hd everything else in up in the air..

The new rig will be for mainly gaming .. bf3 and hon...stwor and diablo.. plus some dreamweaver and photoshop..

I already have a 42 led tv.... and i am buying a case and psu... with 2 dvd drives locally.. so what i can i get ??

Another thing is.. that i live in the tropics and my room isnt AC .. so i am worried about overclocking as the general tempature of my room on any given day is around 30c and it can go up to 35c...

any pointers would be nice..

gaming mainly.. bf3.. stwor...diablo3 and hon.. photoshop yes.. and of course web browsing..

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
budget 1200 USD.... shipping not include.. taxes included
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
I live in trinidad and tobago..

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Crossfire in the future.. usb3 is a must and sata 6 G/bs.. UEFI would be nice
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
I already have a windows x64 professional to install on it..

i hope this answers all questions.
 
Any chance of you waiting another month or two for Intel's new Ivy Bridge CPUs and Z75 and Z77 motherboards to come out?
 
danny i doubt... reason being i dont see any really advantage to the z77 and the z75.. I hate the fact that intel keeps changing their sockets every freaking 2 years..

The way I see it: If you're gonna buy a new PC, why not get the latest parts that will cost about the same as older parts?
 
~10% - 20% more performance at the same costs on the CPU alone and the GTX 600 series should be more mature by then; which means budget 600 series cards that'll be faster than their GTX 500 counter parts. Might or might not be a better bang for the buck over ATI's offerings, we wont know until they come out.
 
i am not sure i can afford a 600 series card in this build.. thats why i was settling for a 7870.

They'll be priced similar to current GTX 500 series cards and with a 1200 USD budget, we should be able to fit you with either the 660 or 670 GTX cards; but it all depends on how they perform and how much they cost which we don't know yet.

In addition to what Skillz said, AMD may also drop the prices on their cards to compete with Nvidia. Right now the HD 7870 is a bit overpriced at its current price of ~$355 considering that Nvidia dropped the prices of the slightly faster GTX 570 cards and equally performing GTX 560 Ti 448 Core cards to $300 and $260 respectively. So even if you were buying today, I still wouldn't recommend the HD 7870. But maybe AMD might drop the prices.
