advice on air cooling.

my thermalright fan on my heatsink died (ive been using a ghetto alternative) and i gave away some case fans (forgot to order any for some pcs i built) and now my system is running a little too hot for my comfort, 47.5C, and ive just been browsing for like 30 minutes :(. i went from 7 fans (3 in/2 out/1 side/1 blowhole) to 4, which explains my rise in temps. anyways, i would like some suggestions on a quiet hsf combo and case fans. ive read the panaflow case fans; link are really quiet, and cool really well at the same time, but id take any other suggestions. provide links to sites i can buy from also if possible. also do fan controllers really help, or are they mostly for cosmetic purposes?

HSF: Thermalright XP-90 with a Panaflo 92mm L1A, Zalman 7000A Al-Cu or Cu

fans: mostly anything by Panaflo, Papst, Silent X, Vantec 'Stealth' series, take the published specs with a grain of salt as the testing methodology is by no means standard

controllers: they do help a ton at the cost of CFM obviously, they undervolt your fans so they spin lower and thus create less noise, you can make pretty much any fan quite bearable with a controller, there's less expensive solutions that acomplish the same if you don't want to use a controller, search is your friend, try looking under 'undervolt'ing' or '5v/7v/12v trick'
 
Zalman Z1 80MM fans are very quiet at full speed and come with a little inline thingy to slow em down and make em super quiet. Theyre also dirt cheap. About 3-4 bucks each. I have 4 and havent used the inline thing on any of em as they are dead quiet at full speed as it is.

For a quiet HSF Id go with the Zalman 7000cu. I have one and it is great. Great cooling and very quiet.

No, I dont work for Zalman. Im just a fan of their..umm...fans.
 
do u have a link for the zalman fans at that price? also what size for does the heatsink use?
 
The Zalman 7000A comes with a non-removable or replaceable fan and a FanMate to adjust it's speed, so no need to buy a separate fan (it'll run you $10 less than the fanless XP-90 as well due to this, XP-90 cools a tad better tho).

anyone gotta link to the 80mm z1? i found a 80mm ZD-F1, but not sure if its the same
