It wouldn't be hard at all, since that computer is old, it takes an IDE drive, not a SATA drive.

I assume that computer only holds one drive because its so old, so you take the old one out, pop the new one in and then you will have to install windows on the new drive. And it looks like that computer comes with a windows install disk. If that computer can hold two drives, just pop the new one in and then you don't have to reinstall windows.

Lets say I wanted to add 3 and make it a storage computer. Would i need a new power supply? New Case? How do you go about multiple hard drives. I only want it because it already has memory, ram and a mobo, I just need a basic hardware setup good enough to store files and move them to where I need.

In that dell, since it is a very very small system, It probably can only fit one hard drive so I would recommend getting another computer because that motherboard doesn't have enough ports for 3 hard drives. Plus, the case is too small.

Tigerdirect has a bunch of refurbished and barebones machines that would fit your needs perfectly like this for example http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3298416&Sku=M452-2722 B
Allthough I wouldn't trust that power supply. You can look around on there or ebay. Try to find one with a mid sized case with at least four 3.5 inch internal drive bays and SATA ports on the motherboard so you can have newer hard drives in your system.

What is your budget?

"Blazing fast"

It's a bloody P3. :p

Do not buy for expandanbility.

The link offered by Gen.Ben would be a good choice. However, I would see if you can buy it for less without the PSU and then buy an XClio PSU for $50. That is the cheapest PSU I would trust. Also notice that this kit does not come with a CPU HSF so you will need to add one.

Other posters are right about the ebay option. That is a small form factor case and will not room or support for more HDs. Don't do it.

Well what's your budget for this storage PC sans hard drives?

Ok, ill scratch the dell system, but If i wanted to get a very simple system ( I have a monitor) and I was willing to spend 400 bucks could I make a system?

Yea hard drives, vid card and barebones system, is it possible? oh and a little memory too

I like the tiger direct system, seems very cheap, If i do not plan on connecting to the internet and upgrade the PSU should the system be pretty stable?

Hey thanks for helping me man, the system for 99 dollars would be even better because its cheaper. It includes a case, psu, 256mb ram, mobo, amd sempron cpu for only 99 bucks. So i basically need to just buy the hard drive and a better power supply pand I could spend prob around 250.

You also need to buy a new HSF for that socket 754 CPU.
