Adding an "Unanswered Threads" button/link under "Quick Links."

I was wondering, is there a way you could do this? I sometimes wonder how many threads go unanswered, and I thought maybe this would help. Maybe put it under the "Today's Posts" link in the "Quick Links?"

Just a thought!! =)

That would be an awesome option to allow people to help with problems no one's gotten an answer to or were just glossed over and never replied to. I sometimes purposely look for ones with 0 replies to see if I can help them :(.

I try to do it, but sometimes you have to search through pages...and if I can't help them I'd bump for them at least so hopefully someone else would see it..=)

Well, it's not something that's a stock option in vBull's admin panel.

But if you do an advanced search, leave the Key Word(s) and User Name fields blank, go down to Find Threads with, then change the default from At Least 0 Replies to At Most 0 Replies, that should get all the unanswered threads. ;)

Heh. I've come across some threads of other forums where an automated reply appears if no one's replied to the thread for a certain amount of time. Kinda cool, kinda creepy.

Kind of like a self-aware slap-in-the-face.

^^^^^^^^

Clever :D.
You also might want to limit the Find Posts from Any Date to a shorter timeframe, as this seems to be a pretty database intensive search and brought up over 5K results with "any date" and caused a db error a couple times.

Do you know what forum software they're using? Just curious.

Also, I know phpBB has the "view unanswered posts" feature and I imagine it's available as a hack to vB. But Kyle has said that until they're absolutely sure the config situation that was causing problems is resolved, they weren't going to be doing any further "tweaking" of vBull.

We do have a resident vBull guru/admin here, John. He came up with a bunch of custom stuff for us that got negated in the db rollback, but that I expect will be implemented again. :)

Naw. I came across it while Googling and I obviously didn't have my curiosity quenched since the thread had no replies. :D

And I don't remember what I was looking for. I'll note it if I ever see it again.
