Awesome Mr. Lehmann! Let us know how you like the H70 as I am possibly considering it. I like the results i've seen from Kyle and other sites testing it, but am not sure if I could tolerate the noise. My folding rigs are in the guest bedroom, which is right across from where I sleep. When guests come over, my foldings rigs DO NOT get shut down. I know it is rude, but they always have the option to go rent a room at the Ho-Jo down the street.

Its running @3999 now sitting under a true-c 190X21 80c in real-temp. bought a couple of these but i cant stand the noise http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0274204

You are running 80 degrees with the H70? Hmmm..........

Before I chose to get a SilenX to put on the side panel, I did look at that fan while at Micro Center. The sales guy suggested them to me and I almost bit until I saw the noise rating on it. Anything that big spinning at 3000rpms is going to be loud as hell, although that thing does have the ability to push a lot of air.

Now @4190 190X22 1.46 vcore which is more than i like 84c running a 2684. stable now for 30 minutes. blue screened at 1.42 vcore. also added a second fan to the true

Ouch! You should probably back down to around 3.8. Those temps are pretty dangerous for 24/7 use.

Hey Lehmann, I have one of these too on an EVGA P55 FTW and 4GB of G.Skill DDR3-2000.

Mine is at 25x160 with the RAM at 1920 and Vcore at 1.26 and VTT at 1.30. Try and utilize the unlocked multiplier to get your speed up and you should be able to use lower VCore and VTT for lower temps.

With the "no vdroop" setting VCore voltage is going between 1.284 and 1.292 according to E-Leet.

80 celsius is fine, as mine has been between 75 and 80 for a few months with no issues, but obviously, lower is better for CPU lifespan.

For these CPUs and their twin channel RAM, you want to get RAM bandwidth up, not necessarily BCLK. I had it at another multi and BCLK (170x24) for 4080 with RAM at 1700, and with the lower BCLK and higher RAM speed now (25x160x1920 RAM) I see 5% better CPU folding performance on it vs. the higher CPU speed I had earlier with higher BCLK, but lower RAM speed.

Try the 2000RPM of those Scythe Ultra Kazes. They have good static pressure and won't hurt your tender eardrums :)

Since I'm moving stuff around, when the current WU finished I'll be playing with mine too and see what I can get out of it, and post what I find.

What components are you using (ie. RAM, mobo, etc...)

Asus p7p55d corsair 850 tx antec 300 case and 2 gtx 260's ocz gold 888-24 1600 ram getting 36,949ppd running a 2684 and 2 gpu-2 clients

I go by the crash meter. If there are no crashes, it ain't dangerous enough. ;) :D

Those temps are actually fine. While folding1 was still in the old Coolermaster Cavalier case before I had it moved to a HAF922, it was regularly running in the 80's. What I think is more dangerous is the amount of vcore that he is running. Running a vcore of 1.46 continously would make me incredibly nervous. That isn't even my computer and just reading about him running a vcore of 1.46 volts makes me nervous.

this chip is just a little better than my 860 which maxed out at 4.1 but not 100% stable. im @ 200X21 qpi highest setting. my vcore is 1.456 typoed my numbers. 1.4 vtt which asus calls ioh i hope. 85c under my true with 2 120 fans 2000rpm and 1500rpm. ill have ppd in a couple hours

10e care for a little compitition? my 200X21 1600 ram. vs your settings? only bigadv times i have will be 2684. and i did try your settings this thing will not run on that low a vcore.

Well I guess I was wrong :D good to know though, I've been way too cautious about temps.

Have you not got the H70 in yet? I'm looking to replace my V8 cooler with one and am trying to find a deal. I missed the one on TD a few days ago for $90. Where'd you get yours at?

I bought mine from microcenter for $109 $249 for the i7-875k. Update had a crash. now running 205X20 1.425 vcore. im gonna install the h70 in my 920 rig as thats my fasted and hottest machine.

update, installed the H70 on my 920, antec 1200, 4 120 intake fans, my H50 artic silver 5 with 2 fans blowing out was running 85c a hour ago, H70 same 2 fans with supplyed thermal grease. also 85c. maybe this stuff need time to cure? or just isnt as good as artic silver.

It helps to plug in both fans  now at 80c this is 5c to 7c better than the H50

Doh! :D...Those temps seem right inline with the performance improvement the H70 is supposed to have over the H50...Beer for ya, for the extra 'D!
