Hey Guys. Wondering if anyone has a solution to my need.

I need a way to tell what user logged onto what system in an AD Environment.

So I want to be able to tell Sally logged onto PC1.

Reason being is we support multiple clients and for remote connection purposes it would be alot nicer if i could determine which PC a user was logging onto myself. Renaming computers to a meaningful description is not an option.

Cheers guys

If you are running WINS you can just look it up there. You can do it from the command line with winscl.exe (in the 2000 resource kit?). I don't know the syntax, but I'm sure microsoft, or atleast someone, has a write up on it somewhere.

There was an app out there that, when ran, lets you put an ID into the field and then press find adn it searches the domain and tells you what PC the ID is logged onto.
Ill see if I have it handy

On another note, I have the registry entry below that I add to PC's that get imaged and just have to tell the users to press ctrl-alt-del and then read me the name in the blue title bar.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"Welcome"=" --=={ %COMPUTERNAME% }==--"
