I'm getting ready to upgrade my monitor. Currently I have an older Acer K272HL. (27" VA 1080 60HZ)

    I want a 32 inch 1440 VA 144HZ panel with G-Sync.

Right now it's a toss up between the Acer Predator Z1 Z321QU or LG 32GK850G. The Acer is a bit cheaper and has the curved screen. Fairly similar otherwise.

Any opinions or firsthand experience on which one to go with?

I went with the 32GK850. Can't stand curved screens, almost impossible to get my head in just the right spot to make the edges look straight. Probably something you get used to after a while, might even be necessary for ultrawides, but a deal breaker for me.

Very happy with the 32GK, my only regret is not having a faster system to average 165 fps.

I didn't even know that the Acer version existed...

And if it's curved, is it a different panel than the LG?

    Love to see a comparison!

There is also a BenQ version EX3203R. But no reviews or any info exist on their performance.

Check the panels before you buy. The LG uses a new AUO panel that has fixed or mitigated typical VA issues. I don’t know for sure but I believe Acer uses the older Samsung panel with known problems such as purple trailing and bad overshoot.

I’ve had the LG since December and have zero problems with it. Blows the old 27” IPS G-Sync screens out of the water. I highly recommend it! However, make sure to fully examine whatever you go with for dead pixels, dust particles, and pixel inversion. I was lucky and received a defect-free unit on the first try, but some users have reported pixel inversion issues. The QC on these monitors is a league above what I experienced with the 27” Acer IPS , but that doesn’t mean they are all perfect.

    Thanks for the helpful insights.

I wish I lived closer to a retail store that had these monitors, so I could look at them first. Closest Microcenter is over 140 miles away.

Either of you with the LG experience G-Sync flickering issues?

PUBG sometimes would flicker, like when theres a loading hiccup/low fps moment.

I decided to go with the Acer Predator Z1 Z321QU. I bought it off Amazon and got it today. I have never had an issue with my previous Acer monitors and I really liked the features that this one offered.

I'll report back after some more usage, but so far this thing is awesome.

Gray uniformity? How does rtings 50% gray look like when stretched to fullscreen, any dirty screen patterns on screen?

Curved sucks, and Acer sucks. Those fucks released a defective 31.5" 4k IPS G-Sync that NEVER worked properly and refused to acknowledge the problem. They don't deserve anyone's money. Would love for them to go out of business.

Looks good to me. Uniform with no visual dirty patterns.

Interesting, the curve seemed okay when I tested the C27HG70, so I might try this Predator, if the Eizo FS2735 I ordered bombs. Just wonder if its a Samsung CHG70 panel or the new AUO panel used in 32GK850G.

    Do you see any BLB?

Not anything objectionable. Just a bit of the typical VA glow or contrast shift. A bit in the upper left corner and a touch at the bottom. Definitely less than my previous Acer K272HL.

As an owner of the LG and past owner of the CHG70 that the Acer is borrowing a panel from, LG all the way. Not only does the curve cause uniformity issues but that panels native contrast ratio is considerably lower.

The LG is IMO the best 16:9 Gsync monitor available right now.

We don't know it though, the panel in LG is originally a curved panel from AUO, and specs are the same CHG70.

What? LG is flat. The Acer is curved and is either using the same panel as the Viotek 32 or CHG70. I had the Viotek side by side with the CHG70 and it's pure garbage, the Samsung is much better.

The LG uses a curved AUO panel, but they take the panels before they bend them and sell them flat. These newest Asus/BenQ monitors out there could be using the same panel but in curved.
