Hi, i have an abit nf7-s v2.0. The memory is stuck at DDR333. The memory I am using is DDR400. How can i get it to show DDR400?

Just bump it up in the BIOS then. What I think your problem is that it [NForce2 limitation IIRC] defaults (under certain circumstances) to DDR333, not DDR400..I don't recall what it was, maybe all slots populated or something..More info might help (size/model of RAM etc).

What kind of chip are you running? If you're running one with a FSB of 333mhz, then a 1:1 ratio will default it to DDR333.

doh! I was running the dram on auto -_- ! i put it on by spd and everything was fixed.

If you are running your CPU at 333 or266 & your RAM at 400fsb then you will actually get slightly lower performance.
K7 prefers to run cpu & mem synchronously.

Correct! I took out my 512mb stick of PC2700, and left my PC3200 gig stick to run async with my 400fsb barton and I got about a 15+% performance/snappiness increase free with 512mbs less ram! Runs things soo much smoother now!

What's the difference between auto and by spd? I would have thought that Auto would default to the By Spd timings.
