Looking for a solid bios v18 to upgrade to a EO step q9550 from v10 e6750. Thanks if any one has a legit version they can direct me to. Or advise on the process:)

Thanks for the help but unfortunately that's the bios for the standard ip35. Im looking for a known working version 18 (also known as a beta 18) for an ip35 pro to allow the E0 step q9550 not the latest bios version 17 thats available for the IP35 Pro that works with a C0 q9550.

But again thanks for trying to help appreciate the effort.

Again I appreciate your help but i don't see the v18 for a IP35 Pro

Their are 6 versions of this board
IP35
IP35 Pro
IP35 Pro XE
IP35-E
IP35P
IP35V

I'm looking for the beta 18 for an IP35 Pro.

I cant find a valid link to it as I have read it was a beta version as the motherboard division of Abit was being shuttered it never made to their above linked download site.

Maybe the standard IP35 v18 would work but seeing how their revision numbers are not alike and I cant find anyone else doing that. Ive been reluctant to try, besides maybe loosing certain features the pro has over a standard...i just don't know.
 
When I Google 'abit forum' there are quite a few results...has to be SOMEONE with who will know more.

Add microcode of Q9550 E0 to Abit IP35 Pro
Abit IP35 Pro_v18_E0 Stepping Latest Official.zip

Check 1234s282's post, #3. It has the mediafire link with what he says is an untouched Abit IP35 Pro 18 BIOS.

Thanks a bunch, I think ill try the v20 it appears to hold the v18 E0 steps Ive been searching for:):):)
 
18 was the last official, the 20 beta changelog does not show anything new added.
Generally leery without more information.
Sadly the ROM could not be updated beyond what it was due to the size of the bios, no room.
Currently running a 850 EVO with 14, no issues at all.

It appeared to me they just added additional E0 steps on the v20 that Big[H] linked to on top of what the beta v18 had, I just see "added E0 support" as the only difference. Im just assuming this might be for the Xeons that people have been using with the little tab method. Ive read conflicting stories on those chips working on my board and the V18 as fare as ive read supports the last of the 775s intel made.

But i get your point its probably better to be safe and go with the v18 as thats whats been claimed to work and this q9550 is the last chip ill be putting in this board...i think. I was just kinda thrown when Big[H] showed a v20, that ive never heard of either, making me rethink my upgrade plan.

Too many options usually gets me into trouble or procrastination. lol i need to just "KISS" and be done.

Thanks for you advice, V18 this weekend and hopes of a "Firestrike" score approaching 6000 from 2600 or maybe im dreaming.

I do have a Evga gtx 970 sc sitting here I got for super cheap i plan on finding out if it will be bottlenecked by this quad at hopefully close to 4ghz otherwise its gonna be a SSD swap for the raptor raid drives and i'll stick with the HD 7870ghz and my nephew will get his first computer, its gonna hurt seeing her go but its time to move on. Then i can finally focus on putting my 1366 and 2011 systems together that ive been piece buying the last year or so. Kind makes me laugh that ive been using a dual core for almost 10 years and im jumping into a quad I7 950 (maybe get a X567x at some point) and a I7 3930k hexa, but its been a truly great system all these years, and if i wasn't interested in Photo/video editing id probably try to use it 5+ more.

Truly appreciate all the help. Ive been visiting this site for what feels like 10+ years now as my main goto for tech news and only recently started to participating. Great Community!
