A8N-SLI problem with dual channel memory

I have an ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard using a pair of Corsair 1gb memory modules of the same make with the same brand memory chips, speed, timing, etc. With one gig of memory (either one) in either the a1 or b1 slot, the system runs flawlessly. When I have two sticks in (a1 and b1 for dual-channel memory - the two blue slots), I'll eventually get memory read errors while I'm playing games. Any idea what gives?

My board shipped with the 1011 bios and I'm using the most recent nVidia chipset drivers. I (today) upgraded the bios to 1014.2 or whatever the latest beta bios is. Windows XP Pro SP 2 is, of course, completely up to date, as are all of my device drivers.

Yes, it does. I would have responded quicker, but Memtest86 takes a bit of time, and I was at work most of the day. Last night, I updated the bios to 1014.2 (the latest beta bios), switched the slots that the memory sticks were in... and no errors so far...

Computers confuse the hell out of me sometimes. Hopefully, it'll keep working like it has tonight. I was able to play DoD:Source, Quake 4, BF2 and several other games without encountering the error. Since I imagine they all use more than a gig of ram when allowed to (especially BF2), I'd have to say that everything is ok... so far...

I find virgin sacrifices keep my computers running well. The problem is getting an old enough virgin near the computer in the first place...

You want strange? My motherboard (standard A8N-SLI - not the deluxe or premium) shipped with bios 1011. While the motherboard was being shipped to me, the most current bios on the website was 1013. When I got my motherboard and went to the website to get the most current bios, the most recent up was either 1009 or 1010. 1013 and 1012 had disappeared completely. Now, after three weeks or so, 1014.2 has come out - and all of the others have returned. Screwed up, no? I looked again just now, and they update the bios again overnight... to a non-beta version of 1014. As long as my computer continues to run with dual-channel memory and no errors, I think I'll leave it how it is though.

I usually make sure I go to the Taiwanese (Global English) sites before checking the US/Canada ones for bios revisions. They are usually the first to have them up and have the most extensive library of bios revisions.
