As some of you may have noticed, A3 2.17 has been released.

This core has several windows threading optimizations.

Processors with Hyper-Threadingr enabled will see a 5-15% incread in PPD.

There is still debate if ppd numbers went up or not with non HT cpus.
(I will post more when I find more data)

There have been some reported issue on non-dedicated systems of A3 threads not releasing enought cycles for other tasks
( Example: Heavy Flash Apps - High FPS Games - Ect)

It may also have some effects on your GPU clients so monitor that situation on you systems.
 
I believe 2.17 has only been released to -advmethods at this time.
 
i updated my i5-750@4.0 to a i7-860@4.0 running a 6012. i tride with and without hyper threading. without it was no different than my i5. with added 4000 ppd. with hyper threading also takes a bigger hit from the gpu client. 15 seconds per fram without. 30 seconds with hyper threading the gpu client was a p5766 353 pointer.
 
I will check my rigs when I get home tomorrow.

I want to see how my i7 rig is doing.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if it has raised PPD with non-HT CPUs. I noticed earlier today that my Q6600@3.4 was doing just under 8k PPD on a 6023 (I believe). That was with an 8600GT running as well. That is easily the most PPD I've seen out of any of my WinSMP Q6600s including the one running 3.6.

 
Might be worth itnow to go fermi instead of quad cards on my gamer, my Q66 could make up the slack now

I've got it running on all of my SMP2 clients and yes it has increased PpD :D :D

Actually, when did the Linux A3 core get an update to 2.17? I could have sworn when I looked yesterday that it was still running the 2.13.
 
I have 3xQ6600's and all are reporting more points than normal. Typicall, it varies from 3500-4000ppd and now they are showing 4000-4500. Good stuff.

Interesting. My Ubuntu box just started a new unit a few hours ago and it's still running 2.13. I'll delete the core and see if it grabs the new one.
 
Seeing a nice boost on my dual core SMP box. Not much of a boost on my 8 core SMP box but that will be another Bigadv in a few days anyway.
 
The fact that non HT boxen are seeing a boost and HT are not doesn't supprise me with the A3 and being able to saturate a core with using only a single thread.

HT Systems are seeing the largest boost Mr Kendrak.
Turn HT ON when running 2.17 Core
