A Picture I Took 2018 - 2019

Now for something very different from the content you guys usually see from me...I did a paid family photoshoot a few weeks ago, my first shoot of the type. I gained a newfound respect for the family photographers out there (though, of course, that sector of photography is still saturated by soccer moms with their first Canon Rebel)

And of course, since I like a challenge, I shot this strobist style. Though a 72" umbrella backed off from the subject tends to be pretty forgiving.

Overall I was pretty meh on the fireworks pictures I took this 4th of July, but this one reminded me of a cosmic skull. It kinda blows my mind and makes me smile!

This was the first shoot I did where I extensively used HSS during the session...I think I'm in love with my AD200s (Flashpoint eVOLVs). This was shot using two in the AD-B2 accessory, with a 43" octabox.

That's really cool. I've been toying around with a few light systems, and Godox/Flashpoint is the system I've been reading about the most, but I still haven't convinced myself to actually buy any of them... yet. Natural light has been my go to this entire time.. and a single sb800 that has seen better days

I'm like northrop. Well, more like too lazy to lug stuffs around. Pretty impress with how much shadow recovery we can get from these new cameras. This is shot at 10 pm under pretty poor street lights.

Sunrise in RMNP - the Labor Day traffic to the Bear Lake parking lot was definitely no joke. By the time I left around 7:45 AM, the parking lot was absolutely, 100% full and I passed numerous cars going up as I went back down!

Note to self - do more astrophotography at the beginning of nighttime, right after the end of blue hour. I caught some absolutely crazy color in the sky a few weeks ago. Not photoshopped!

It's that time of year! But to be honest I don't think the Black Hills are that great for autumn colors. There's not as much variety as I'd prefer, compared to other places I've been.
