A Picture I Took - 2011

It's sometimes really discouraging to look at my photos and see how awesome your stuff is...working on things, got my D40 and 70-300. I have a bit of an itch to get a better body, but no money and no real need to as it'll do more for me to keep learning on my D40.

I know what you mean about the itch to upgrade. I've been using my D80 all this time, and I really want to upgrade, but it probably won't happen for at least another couple of years (or until my camera dies on me, whichever happens sooner :p). Just keep shooting. Enjoy what you've got, and take it to the limit and beyond! :cool:

Got some new pics. Order of the day: Urban Candid Shots!! i went crazy and filled a 4gb CF card in an hour session!

Uploaded and touched up some of these in lightroom. first time using that app.

I need to upload some more though but had a quick browse and picked these so far:

I had to go up close and personal for many of these shots! Tamron 17-50mm is such an awsome and sensational lens!

I’m back! (did you guys miss me? :p) Went on a cruise around the north atlantic and shot about a thousand pics that I still need to process. I’m sure to be posting a few of those here in the next couple weeks… Had some serious [H] withdrawal while I was out – lots of catching up to do here. :cool:

Lots of good stuff posted here while I was away! DT, the IR shots just keep getting better - love the cool reflected image in 5772893375_e2d7812378_z.jpg! And lots of good bird shots from Avatar, BB, and Auric. :)

^Heh... I'm suggesting getting a $10k lens for some candid shots, and you call me mad for parking a car in London? I'm glad you've got your priorities straight :D

For the record, I've never been to London, so I don't know any better :p
 
When I'm out on the street I get all kinds of reactions, but nobody has ever confronted me.

If someone gives me a look for snapping their pic, I just look past them like I'm shooting something else and put the camera back up to my face.

This is about the worst I've had so far, and it's only a finger. I shot this at 55mm from across the street. I had my 70-200mm on, but you can't get a clear shot on anything with all that sidewalk in front of you.

Got more of the Pony, but holding them in reserve as there's (small) potential for publication as part of a story Warbirds Digest is doing on the Air-2-Air photography class that the Historic Flight Foundation held this past month.

We finally had a launch on the launcher closer to the observation site. I really wish I had something a little bit longer than my 70-200mm...to get closer in, not to stand back more :p
