Looks like I missed a good bit of stuff in the past week – great shots Filter, MN Scout and botw! (and a bunch that aren't showing up from work today)

I just got back yesterday from my massive family road-trip out to CO for hiking in the Rockies. Should be posting a few of my many many new landscape shots some time soon.

That's a badass picture of the lizard :)

These were taken at the harbor in rockwall

I just dont think there's enough images of pets. And photos taken with HD video cameras (camcorders)

Yeah, if you want super grainy piuctures at anything but the lowest of ISO's and want to waste the rest of your life developing them...

Do you use a 286 for your desktop machine? :p

I run a 1.7GHz P4 with a RIVA TNT2 and 768MB of RAM, so close but no cigar.

By the way my monitor is an ancient 14" Panasonic TN panel from 1998 or 1999. And you thought today's TN panels have bad viewing angles. CRTs hurt my eyes so not an option.

As for the film suggestion, it's probably the only way you'll get full frame for less than $2000. A $30 used film body, a couple of rolls of Velvia, and some mailers for development shouldn't top $100. As for scanning, film-capable scanners can be had for less than $100.

SPECTACULAR PIECE OF ART (Or graffiti) <-- Please click for original size. The crop doesn't do it justice.

BB - love your vintage plane shots! Nice shots from Ben and MadFive too. :) I also feel a strange desire to go to 101doves.com (as soon as someone else confirms it won't infect my computer with all kinds of crap...)

A few of mine from today:

Soccer close up (5d and 100-300 at 260 - I've been pretty pleased with this lens that I picked up for $100 since I lacked a telephoto for full frame):

Trying this pic. again as it was too dull before :/

Shinjuku (aka. Tokyo)- Probably going to have to readjust the colours in this one as well.

Cheers.

Hay bales wrapped in plastic so they don't rot in the rain

Yep. Funny thing is, my Mom commented on my facebook page when I posted the link almost the same thing as OmegaAvenger.. "Mountains and Marshmallows!" :)

Awesome shot. Got a diffuser/softbox goin' on there?

The rest are great as well, but that one just grabbed me.

This is the top of the city's water tank. There is a forest fire burning in the background.

I think I found a new favorite lens. The 35mm f/1.8. Had been using my 50mm f/1.8 lens, but was disappointed in sharpness and contrast wide open, and it isn't the most friendly on crop boddies. I just got the 35mm in today, and so far I'm really happy with it.

I like this working distance a lot better than the 50mm.

f/1.8 ISO500:

f/2 ISO200 Cloudy day today, so not the best light. Though, the lens needs to be tested out!:

I'm not sure which 24mm you are referencing Ben. The 24mm f/1.4 is just too far out of my budget. I was just looking for a really sharp 35mm prime when wide open, and something that was a little more portrait friendly that didn't require me to back-up so much. I'm pretty well set on lenses right now. My next purchase will be a real camera bag, and then another bag set-up for when I'm backpacking. I've already spent too much on this hobby and need to start directing some of the funds to my supporting hobbies that will compliment and enhance the photography like my love of camping and biking.

If anyone has backpacked with a camera and 3-4 lenses (not the massive f/2.8 here) would you recommend a large fanny packish bag, or a holster style bag around the neck and 2 lens holders off the waist belt? I'd take along my 10-24mm, 16-85, and 70-300(non vr) and either the 35mm or 50mm prime.

botw, nice flies, love the detail on the eyes.

Two 10mm frames composited in Microsoft Image Composite Editor.

LOL. OK I'll bite what exactly do you do that gets you a pie in the face at work :)

Hehe, I'm a database analyst, but I work for a call center with a lot of agents. :p

Basically it was an incentive to improve performance; if the staff meets a certain criteria, they get to throw a pie at their manager's face. Unfortunately for our management staff, it worked very well and all of the managers got to line up against the wall to accept several facefulls. :D

Although I wasn't involved in the contest (different department), I was drafted in as the photog for the event. My plan is to do a good enough job that I'll always be the photographer and never have to be on the receiving end of future 'incentives'...

Nothing but my E-510, trusty 35mm 1:1 and a bit of a flash.... brings me closer then I really want to be.
