I haven't played a battlefield game I don't like (1942, vietnam, bf2,2142, bfbc2), so I'm not really understanding the DICE hate. Sure, BFBC2 has a little consolitis, but it's still a great game. EA on the other hand has done some things I'm not particularly fond of....

I don't understand why people keep blaming EA for the "No Crysis 2 on Steam" thing. It really does seem like it was Valve's doing. I mean look at the situation:

Crysis 2 is available from Impulse, Direct2Drive, and Gamer's Gate, in addition to EA's Origin service. Now why would EA pull it from only Steam and not the other download services, if indeed they were going Origin exclusive?

Then there's the fact that people point out that Alice: Madness returns hasn't come to Steam. It was released the same time this take down happened. However again, you can get it on Impulse, Direct2Drive, and Gamer's Gate. So even if EA had a different contract, that didn't allow them to pull games, they wouldn't have released this new title. Yet they did.

There's also Battlefield 3. Again, you can get it at the other 3, but it has not been on Steam for preorder. Again we see EA being willing to work with others.

Finally there's the fact that EA has released a statement saying it was Valve's choice, not theirs. Had that been false, you can bet your ass Valve would have come right out and say "They are full of shit!" They have said nothing, including in response to game publications asking them, which indicates that indeed EA has the true story.

People need to remember that Valve is not some charity organization working for the betterment of mankind. They are a company trying to make money like any other.

You probably were going to do it anyways but why not buy it on disc, folks?

Everyone is ASSUMING and jumping to conclusions about games like BF3 only being exclusive to Origin for digital download.


If the whole thing goes down to where EA really is stupid enough to make Origin the ONLY way to get their games via digital download...skip the whole thing.

Buy the damned thing on disc, get a different .exe which I personally have no problems with if I've legit bought the game, and it's like you got a digital download version anyways. Same convenience. No disc required.



It's been established fact that VALVE took down Crysis 2.

And the new Alice is an EA Game and I see it on Steam right now.


Seems like the jury is still out on where that's all headed ultimately. Looks like some renegotiating situation to me.

I am sure she is mad because EA is actually making a game for the PC and "ruining" BF3 for the consoles by not having better graphics and 64 players.

As far as I am concerned, all the shit I gave EA in the past about who knows what... I take it all back.
 
As someone who lives for hockey, what EA has done with the recycled crap they pump out for $65 each year in the forum of their NHL game makes me die inside.

Those used to be the crown jewel. I forgot which branch of EA Sports handled those games but for a while those were far and away the best sports games that EA was putting out.

So after about 3 hours with support I finally have crysis, crysis warhead, and bulletstorm on origin.
