I got the "64" GB S599 almost two weeks ago and was pretty impressed with its performance. I just have my OS on the drive and the WoW game with about 20GB of free space.

The first time the problem occurred I was away from my computer. I had left it on and when I got back I was welcomed with a nice DOS message stating to please insert media into my drive to boot. I restarted into BIOS and sure enough my SSD was not listed/detected. I simply replugged the SATA cable and the SSD was detected in BIOS and I had to reconfigure the boot order.

Today, several days later, this happened again except this time I was actually at my computer. The OS basically froze except that I could move my cursor around. When I used ctrl-alt-del I was presented with a black screen so I restarted my computer to again be welcomed by the same message. I repeated the same process as before and all is fine now.

My question to you is: should I RMA this S599 or could it be a different problem?

My system is as follows: i7 930 @ 4.2GHz, 3x2GB G.Skill 1600 DDR3, Asus Sabertooth X58, Corsair 750TX, 2x Asus EAH6850 (CrossFireX) @ 900/1100, A-DATA S599 64GB, Seagate ST3500418AS.

I just got the 128 GB version about 4 days ago. No issues on OS X yet, and the speed is ridiculous.

Definitely RMA. Or since it has only been a few weeks exchange it where you bought it.

Hi,

Just worried about my speeds, can you please confirm they are OK?

Using latest MB Bios (Rampage 3 Extreme) and latest drive bios 3.4.6

I'm using only 1 Adata S599 128 GB on intel SATA 6 using AHCI enabled in BIOS and via Windows registry tweak as well as ensure TRIM is enabled.
