Does anyone know the true power draw of the 9800gx2 while folding? The reason I ask is I have an old folding machine thats running a 9800gx2 and a 8800gt and folding with two duel core opterons. Ive had this machine folding for over 3 years 24/7 and it has never had a problem. The power supply is a PC Power and Cooling silencer 750. I cant believe it has not failed in all this time. I have a spare 9800gx2 that just sits in the closet. Thinking of taking the 8800gt out and putting the second 9800gx2 in there also.......or do you all think it will be to much for the power supply? BTW I would stop the cpu folding on it. The old opterons dont do much anymore.

9800GX2s are only about 200W each, just over. Two of them won't tax a 750W PCP&C unless you have a seriously overclocked 130W CPU in there, like a watercooled 4.5Ghz i7.

I had a pair of 9800gx2 cards running on a PC&P 750W supply for some time with a q9550. No issues with that combo.

It'll work fine, but it will be very noisy. Despite the name those PCP&C Silencer units are incredibly loud at high load (50dB in an anechoic chamber at only 2/3 wattage, compared with 35-40dB for most new PSUs at 100% load). Very few components reach 50dB in an anechoic chamber, excluding Delta case fans and Radeon stock coolers above 90% fan speed.
