9700 Pro vs X800 XL?

I know theres a huge difference, but i'm curious exactly what that would be. Would you say a 100% noticable difference or 200%? etc Are there any charts that compare these two?

Just trying to determine if the upgrade is worth the cost. Right now i'm running EQ2 with medium/high settings and it's pretty good, however I can't turn on shadows or it will lag too much.

Also with a P4 2.4 GHz 800FSB processor will I be able to take full advantage of the x800 XL?

I differ that. I have a 9800 Pro and the proformance is like 1/3 of the X800 XL in actual games. Also with 2.4ghz it might be a small bottle cap but for the most part it should.

Same here. When I played CS:S at 1680x1050 2xAA 16xAF medium/high quality mix- I was always boucning around 30-60fps. Now with the X800XL, 1680x1050 4xAdaptive AA 16xAF, all high I'm around 90-120fps, never below 70fps.

Doubled the 3Dmark03 and 05 scores, too.

Huge improvement.
 
Seems like people confuse the x1800xl with x800xl, too simualr oif a name? I do not know, You wil lget a huge boost in performance jumping from your 9700pro.

well there is only 1 difference :D

it all depends on if u want the shadows and whatnot
if u do then upgrade
the X800XL is a great upgrade option from a 9700Pro
the best option is to upgrade ur entire rig when you are ready to
that way u wont be limited somewhat by AGP
(hopes this doesnt turn into another PCI-e AGP war)
 
Going from a 9800 Pro to a X800XT PE was an amazing upgrade... I love my X800 it plays everything smooth as buttah 1280x1024 maxed out. Except Quake4 MP =/
 
x800xl's overclocking is mediocre. x800pro's are better and same with the x850's.

i personally dont like the x800xl agp (big pcb, crappy oc, crappy performance)

Yeah I have the asrock 939 as well. It's a good mobo and I recommend it for anyone still using an AGP card. Only problem is that you need to do a very simple mod to get above 1.4 vcore.
 
I don't know, I didn't up the voltage at all and I'm at 2.66ghz with 3200+ lucky me
 
The X800XL leaves the 9700Pro in the dust.... for miles. So a massive differents for you ;)
