So I have a Sapphire 9500 np, not modded, not o/ced, 4.6 cats. I've had it for over a year now and never had any problems. Until recently... I'm thinking it has to do with heat. And I'm thinking about replacing the stock POS fan. Need suggestions....

Recently, for the last 2 weeks or so, my pc has been rebooting while in games. Sometimes the VPU recovery kicks in. I'm thinking it has to do with heat. I've tried all the cats from 3.7 up. Repositioned the card to allow more airflow.

Decreased settings in games and opengl settings <- that actually allowed me to play longer before it reboot...

The stock fan is HOT to touch..

It's warm in the house, PCs are upstairs, even with a/c. Pcprobe says cpu is running at 40c idle, 45c load. Bios says 48c idle, ~53c load.

Any ideas about a solution? recommendations for fans/hsf?

Get a VGA Silencer. 10 bucks, if you can follow basic instructions you will have no problems.

Order from SVC.com, use coupon code REV3 (I think it still works).
