Im looking for a 90mm fan to replace the stock one on my Thermaltake Tsunami case. Heres the specs for the current fan:

Max. Air Flow 56CFM
Fan Dimension 90x90x25 mm
Noise 35dBa
Rated Voltage 12V
Bearing Type 2 Ball Bearing
Started Voltage 7V
Connector 3 Pin
FAN Speed 285010% RPM

First off, I would like the fan to support rpm monitoring. At full speed it’s alright for the fan to be 35dba loud but it has to move at least 50cfm of air. At the low setting I would like it to be under 25dba. These are just recomendations but if theres a better one let me know.

I liked that one but can I 92mm fan fit where a 90mm fan was? Also, does anyone know how noisy and how much air it pushes at the lower setting? Maybe im confused, is RPM monitoring when the computer adjusts the fan speed according to the current temps?

The Tsunami takes a 92 mm fan. Trust me. I've replaced mine three times.

Maybe you can try an Antec Tri-cool: http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=75080

You can find their specs on that page. FYI, I am not a real fan of them as I think their high and medium settings are too loud, while the low setting doesn't push enough air, but other people like them. Noise andperformance is a personal preference.

I finally settled on a SilenX. Doesn't support your needs though.

I still want to find out more about the Panaflo listed above. How many different speeds does it have? Can someone answer my question about RPM monitoring?

The Panaflo doesn't have any speed settings. What happens is you plug it into the CPU fan plug on your mobo, and via a BIOS setting or Windows application you can manually adjust the fan speed or have the system adjust the speed based on temperature. RPM monitoring just means that it is possible for the BIOS and window's apps like SpeedFan to tell you the RPM the fan is currently running at. Alternately you can use a fan controller to undervolt the fan. The Panaflo's can get damn near silent at low speeds, while still maintaining superb air flow.

Well I need one that can have the system adjust the speed based on temperature. Are you saying none of the Panaflo's can do that?

the stock fan isnt pushing that much CFM atleast mine didn't. I got a 92mm panaflo there now works fine. I also removed the grill of it... Be careful, and you will have it be more quiet, and when I went from water to air cooling, my air cooling dropped 2c which isn't bad by the grill remove.

In my last post I said that the Panaflo's can be regulated by the motherboard. The fan itself does not adjust it's speed, the motherboard uses it's temperature information to adjust the fan speed.

Does that rule apply for any fan? I also heard that the motherboard only does that if it is plugged into fan1 or fan2 on the motherboard.

Actually that applies only to fans that support it, to boards that support it and yes it has to be plugged into a mb header

I think you are incorrect on your first point. Any fan can be controlled based on temperature. All the motherboard really does is get input from a temp sensor, and control the voltage to the fan accordingly.

good point, but mbs dont control via v variation
