1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Primarily gaming on MOBA's and MMORPG's, recording of gameplay with FRAPS, NOT streaming / broadcasting, casual web surfing and word processing.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$800 +/-$100
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
SC, USA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, RAM, Case, Motherboard, GPU, HDD, PSU, Optical Drive, OS. Keyboard / Mouse / Monitor (Recommendations, don't need to be included in budget)
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None.
6) Will you be overclocking?
No.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
Need a monitor - Taking recommendations
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Within Two Weeks
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Nothing Special
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Need an OS.

Building a machine for a buddy. He's a WoW gamer and is geting into League of Legends and Hero's of the Storm. He's also going to be doing some recording of his gameplays to upload to YouTube and share with friends. He's not currently interested in streaming on Twitch. Besides that, just the usual web surfing and word processing.

I'm figuring with a $800-900 budget he should be more than fine all around, maybe even including a nice monitor. i5, 8gb RAM, decent GPU, etc...

Where's ol' Dannybui with the bead on the combos?

Sorry, no combo deals this time. Keep that SSD in the setup at all costs. It makes a serious difference in the overall responsiveness of the system.

I concur with Dangman, but if you must keep things under $900, the only (safe) corner you could cut is with the case:

$40 - Rosewill LINE-M micro ATX mini-tower case
$50 - NZXT Source 210 Elite ATX mid-tower case

That said, the Corsair 230T is better than those cases.

Here's a good, cheap monitor for gaming:

$157 - Asus VS247H-P 23.6" 1920x1080 LED monitor
