HI. I have 8700K on stock with mobo Asus Z370 Pro Gaming + case Fractal Design R5. Cpu temps on games are fine 70C+.
3dmark physic test looped 70-80C. Unigine Heave 50-65C max on some spots.

When i run Asus Real Bench it skyrockets in stress test to 95C, and i am stopping test.
In Prime95 its worst with small ftt,but i guess its using AVX.
Any ideas why it causing this?
My cpu cooler is Cryorig M9i.Cpu is not overclocked.

XMP profile enabled in bios on memory 3000mhz. UEFI STOCK bios. Cpu clocks during test 4700mhz.

Is sense to play with this for syntetics only? Thanks

To be sure, it's surprising just how much power such a tiny processor can consume once it’s pushed to its limits. Nevertheless, Intel’s Core i7-8700K is relatively easy to cool, even on air. You'll just want to stay away from taxing rendering sessions and AVX-optimized workloads. At that point, you're best off with an all-in-one closed-loop liquid cooler.

What they mean? I dont understand, well i am not english. sorry for language and question

They mean don't run heavy duty stuff like AVX and it will run relatively cool. These chips RUN HOT, everyone knows this. This is why enthusiasts are angry at Intel for how they assembled the IHS.

Ok but i dont know if this is normal, getting so fast to 95C on asus real bench? I have stock 8700K, oc is on auto to 4700mhz. I know i have weak cooling , but i think enough for normal use?

Hello. On asus forum rog they told me that i must reset heatsing and change tim . But i am not sure if that helps? Is this normal or maybe not?
Like i said on games i have fine temps.

It might help if you have a bad TIM application or an improperly mounted heatsink. But the reality is you are running AVX workloads and using sub-par cooling. 95C seems about right even with your minor OC.

what is your vcore in windows?
If its high then your fine. If its low/stock then you may have to reset the heatsink

Remember that I said the CPU uses 100-110W under normal operating conditions. Prime95 and Real Bench are far outside normal operating conditions. The temp is fine when gaming with such a small cooler.
I'll bite... If you want an honest opinion.

Yes, it should be plenty. The 8700K uses 100-110W under normal conditions with no overclock and no change to turbo behavior. The M9i is rated for 120W, so there is a little breathing room there.
You could always just RMA it like the dozens of video cards you've supposedly gone through.
