Intel Core i7-860 & GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.319616 - $397

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181 - $55

A Radeon HD 5000 series card dx 11 support

Been out of the loop for a long time coming from a 1700+, want something that i don't have to upgrade for 3 - 4 yrs

thank you

Your parts plus these:
$94 - G.Skill Ripjaw Series F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL 2 x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM
$170 - XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 1GB PCI-E Video Card
$28 - LG GH22NS50 DVD Burner
---
Total: $744 plus tax and shipping. The remaining $64 should cover the wireless N adapter, all in one card reader and 6ft DVI cable without any issue. A HSF would probably not be doable.

Get an i7 920. LGA 1366 is the better socket and will support future procs. LGA 1156 will not.

If you find extra money, HSF rec would be the CM Hyper 212+ for $30. DVI cable from monoprice.com should be rather cheap, but not sure with shipping.

That's an excellent build there Danny. His low resolution means the 5770 should be fine. Unfortunately, ATI has yet to release the dekstop 5830, and without that there's a gap too wide between the 5770 and the 5850.

Is 5830 the official model?

Noticed there are 2 different types of coolers for the xfx 5770 (on newegg) which one is better?

found my usb reader so no need for it anymore

don't want to heavy o/c this cpu just give it a little boost will the cooler do fine for med. oc/ing?

also is it worth the extra money for the i7-920 1366 socket? won't be upgrading for a couple years

also my antec 900 has just the stock case fans, should i add a couple to keep it cool or will the stock airflow be enough? don't want it loud

thanks again

I don't know if there are differing opinions on this, but for my money, I will always take the cooler that exhausts 90% of its air outside of the case.

V2 (egg-shaped) is cooler and quieter.

V1 (shroud-shaped) is loud as balls and does a half-assed job at cooling but does exhaust hot air out the back.

Of the two, I would choose neither and go with the Sapphire Vapor-X. But in a pinch the V2 will do.
