I thought about it until i saw the checkout page which only takes credit card, even though their site says they take paypal. Their privacy notice also states they share personal information with 3rd parties, contact address is 1050 El Camino Ave, Sacramento, CA 95815 which looks like some abandoned knock off U haul store

I smell fakey shady stuff. $50 is too cheap for the genuine article. Super find if it isn't though!

I capitulated, no choice really lol, cheers relapse808.
Order has just been confirmed.

There is only import duty etc on $50, shipping is free worldwide.
Amazing value no matter where you are.

I figure if it’s a scam I will contest the charges, they have no problem refunding the cash and reissuing a card.

They've got 2K reviews on trustpilot? That's not terrible.
Hmm, after placing the order I realised that is a different company.
gardentrends.us vs gardentrends.co.uk
There are no results on google for "gardentrends.us" "trustpilot"
This could get interesting.

I guess reading more of the thread before pulling the trigger would have been sensible.
As pointed out above, a new card is easy to issue and I shouldnt be out of pocket.

As a precaution I cancelled my card.
They said I can try and reclaim the money after the delivery period has expired, so 2 to 4 weeks.

If you don't have Paypal, this might be one of those times when you go down to CVS real quick and get a prepaid VISA and go that route vs. using your personal CC in case things go sour. The extra couple of dollars for the prepaid might make for good insurance.

If this isn't just straight-up fake, then a pallet of them "fell" off a truck somewhere.

I thought about that but then I wondered what kind of recourse one might have if nothing ever shows up. At least with a credit card I know I can call and talk to a person. Does that same apply for the prepaid cards since they're visa/master card or w.e

You can't pay with paypal, it says paypal but I am not seeing an option to pay with paypal anywhere, more than likely a scam I'm thinking.

I saw this early on, but celex.us is a us-based company in Sacramento: https://gardentrends.us/terms-of-service/
"These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Celex, 1050 El Camino Ave, Sacramento, CA 95815, USA."

Wonder if someone can get a phone number and call them up?

The billing terms are a bit harsh too: "Any complaints about items or the seller should be submitted to our support team. Please email: support@celex.us. There is no guarantee of a resolution. Each case will be looked at individually and the seller will be in contact."

So the business in the google street view is 'Allied Trailer Supply' which is a family owned business at the same address as Celex. And they have a phone number too:
https://www.alliedtrailerparts.com/contact.htm

One call to Allied asking if they know who Celex is will probably put this baby to bed as a scam or confirm that they did get a load of these and are just trying to blow them out through their online trading company.

This isn't normally $400 - it's normally $800. And ~free shipping~ on a Lego kit where the box weighs 30 pounds? Yeah, no.

It should also say a lot that it says "Secure with PayPal" and then never provide a way to use them.

This would be too cheap by ~$200 even if it was a Chinese "Lepin" knockoff set.

I’m not worried, CC company refunds fraudulent charges ASAP, I’ve had to do this before and it worked out. So we will see what happens.

I want to buy this so bad.

Same, but there is no way this is not a scam. Even the knockoff versions of these are like $300.

The original is out of production and goes for around $5,000 so there is literally no chance of this being legit LEGO product.

EDIT: Sorry, I was thinking of the original trilogy one from years back.

Hmm, from phone it asks if I want to use Google Pay. That's a one time authorization. In case any of you are tempted to roll the dice I would think that's a pretty safe way to ensure only one charge at a set amount.

As a casual observer it looks like it would be fun to assemble, but it also look to be the size of a coffee table. What do you do with that once assembled?!

To those brave souls that ordered I hope you guys get it, will be a helluva good deal!
