7950 vs 6970

If you were to put a 7950 @ 880mhz core/ 1000mhz memory up against a 6970 @ 1027mhz core/ 1500mhz memory would they perform the same??? In theory they would have the same fillrate and bandwidth..... Guess what I am asking is did they optimize the new cores or just add TMU's and clock speed. Someone should do a comparison.....
 
Yeah but I didnt see any adjusting of clocks for the 6970...You would need to increase the clocks on the 6970 to compensate for less TMU's (96 vs 112)...

Right.... I guess what I want to know is clock for clock would a HD7000 family beat a 6900 and by how much...
