After considerable effort I have found that I am simply unable to make my HTPC play 1080p .mkvs. I have major issues with stuttering and/or audio desynch. The computer was bought specifically for this purpose so it's pretty damn annoying.
(I've had the computer for quite some time now, but only recently I've been trying to make the jump from 720p to 1080p and thus have been reminded of this issue.)
I've tried a bunch of different players (KMplayer, Zoomplayer, PowerDVD, MPC) and I've tried installing a buncha different codecs as well as clean installs of windows vista and recently windows 7.
The problems are constant, though some players seem worse then others. I'd GREATLY appreciate ANY input.
