780G - issues with 1080p playback

After considerable effort I have found that I am simply unable to make my HTPC play 1080p .mkvs. I have major issues with stuttering and/or audio desynch. The computer was bought specifically for this purpose so it's pretty damn annoying. :D (I've had the computer for quite some time now, but only recently I've been trying to make the jump from 720p to 1080p and thus have been reminded of this issue.)

I've tried a bunch of different players (KMplayer, Zoomplayer, PowerDVD, MPC) and I've tried installing a buncha different codecs as well as clean installs of windows vista and recently windows 7.

The problems are constant, though some players seem worse then others. I'd GREATLY appreciate ANY input.

I found that with my setup, the onboard HD3200 (780G) graphics were not good enough to play 1080p content in Windows 7, nor could I use the guide and watch live HD channels at the same time in 7MC. Before I upgraded to Windows 7, I was running XP, and I had some issues with 1080p content at first, but somehow, after installing CCCP and running MPC, and tweaking the settings, I was able to get hardware acceleration working, and 1080p files played fine (under XP only). However, after trying out Windows 7 RC, and then upgrading to Windows 7, I could not reproduce those results. I eventually gave up trying, and bought a stand alone card (one of the new 5450), and haven't had any issues since. There may be a way to get 780G to run 1080p files, I just couldn't figure it out. Having a slower processor didn't help either. It wouldn't hurt to try the guide above, but you may need to upgrade your video card or CPU, or go back to XP.
