I agree with his comment. If that is true, the Ultra will score a couple FPS in games over the GTX.PolarLAB said:lol, thanks for the inspiring comment, sounds like someone needs to go to bed
then the BFG ultra will be higherSkrying said:That's what they are gonna make of the Ultra version? Oh come on, that sucks anus.
BFG's 7800GTX's already are at 460/1300. What's another 40Mhz on the core and 75Mhz on the memory.
I really hope that's false, oh wait, it most likely is......![]()
The clocks the AIB guys choose are irrelevant to NV. Besides, the X800XT-PE was only 5% quicker than the next model down (X800XT) and the almighty X850XT-PE was only 3% quicker than it's predecessor (X800XT-PE). So, a 500MHz Ultra part is 16% faster than stock and still 9% faster than the BFG GTX OC. A 500MHz Ultra is positively generous compared to some of ATi's latest offerings. As for the memory speed, unless NV can get their hands on some 1.429ns Samsung GDDR3 then it's going to be tough to get much more speed out of the 1.667ns stuff. Those supposed 7800U clocks may be BS but they're almost exactly what I'd expect from an Ultra part.Skrying said:BFG's 7800GTX's already are at 460/1300. Warrior said:... you got to be shitting me... if they charge 100 dollers more for this.. i will never buy a nvidia product again...
i for one was anticipating a 32 pipe Ultra..![]()
Selecter said:I see them hitting a wall at 65 nm much like the one everybody had getting to 90 from 130nm. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the entire industry is going to go massively parallel with both CPU's and GPU's.
Theres not much reason they cant dual core a GPU the same way they did a X2 4400. 2 years from now we'll have Quad Cores on the CPU. Hell, Apple may possibly have that now if the PPC970MP turns out to be a dual core and they stuff two seperate CPUs in their next Power Mac rev. and tie it together with HT.

techPowerUp! said:As I posted earlier, NVIDIA seems to have a GeForce 7800 Ultra series card up it's sleeve just waiting for ATI to show 'em their cards. As you can find at hardspell.com, the GeForce 7800 GTX scores ~7800 single card, and 1300 SLI for 3DMark05. The 7800 GTX is clocked at 430/1200, and the Ultra then makes the leap to 500/1375. With these monstrous clocks, the 24 pipeline beast turns out a whopping ~9000 3DMarks for single card, nearly the same score dual 6800 GT's would get. All in all, the 7800 series is looking a lot more impressive than it did before and the graphics wars as a whole are just getting started.
Homer said:This is bullshit. I just payed 1200 bucks for 2 7800 GTX's which were supposed to be the top of the line of the 7800 series. There was going to be the GTX, then GT, then just 7800 or something. where did this ultra come into play?
Homer said:Well, atleast when the new cards come out I can always just sell my 2 GTX and spend a little more and upgrade.
