7800 sli setup

Okie... well someone gave me a 7900 gt to muck around with and i'm curious if i can sli it with a 7800gt. They both have the same amount of ram and they are both 7 series cards. Basically this 7900 is going in the trash bin if i can't do it as it has an artifacting problem.

I installed both cards with and without the connector and I cannot see any sli options in the nvidia control panel. I'd be more than willing to flash the 7900gt to a 7800gt if thats even possible. Like i say... its going in the bin if i can't do it or someone on here doesn't have any good ideas.

BTW it's just a PVR comp... 3700+ amd system.... again i'm just foolin around.
 
If you can't find any info, try to flash it. It'll give you a few more minutes of playtime before trashing it at the least.
 
Not compatible. The 7900GT is based on the G71 GPU while the 7800GT is based on the G70 GPU. You can only SLI cards of the same GPU model.
