Machine specs: (girlfriend's rig)

MSI 880gm-E41
Athlon X2 250
Msi 7750 catalyst 12.8
Seasonic 350w
WD 300 GB velociraptor

Ok weird issue. With a GTS 450 and a GTS 250 I have been able to get this chip to 3.75 ghz and everything works. With this 7750 installed it hangs the system any time I open CPU-Z or HW monitor, only with the video card driver installed. Then on reboot it says a HT sync flood error has occurred. This is at stock clocks on everything. If I uninstall 12.8 it works fine. I have tried several different catalyst versions, wiping and reinstalling till Im blue in the face etc.

Also I have tried overclocking without the driver installed and then not touching cpu-z. When I do this and then reinstall catalyst, it fails prime 95 right away(although it does seem to work at stock clocks). Does anyone have any idea short of going back to nvidia. I no longer have the gts 450. I went with the 7750 due to the performance per watt ratio.

I'm kind of curious about your issue since we have one of these cards (XFX) on the way for my workstation at work.

Well it works fine if you don't overlock. I have a sapphire 7750 that works flawlessly also.

This is a "work"- station that is going to be used for all types of programming. Absolutely no overclocking here. (HP 220z - Xeon etc. etc..)
