i have an ecs g41t-m4 socket 775 motherboard. im looking for an inexpensive cpu. what are some good 20 dollar-ish cpus available. my board will work with Core 2 Quad* / Core 2 Duo / Pentium Dual-core / Celeron, with an 1333/2066/800 FSB

You're looking for a $20 CPU?

You could probably find some socket 775 Pentium-4 chips on ebay for $20.

For more like $40-$50 you could get something along the lines of a Celeron E3300

my mobo wont work with ANY P4. right now im just looking for something that works with my mobo so i can get it up and running. i need something better than the socket a rig i already have. down the road, im doing an overclock rig shooting for a stable 5.0ghz

Then you're gonna have to spend more than $20 then considering that the cheapest brand new CPU that'll work with your mobo is this:
$42 - Intel Celeron 430 Conroe-L CPU

You could try the For Sale/For Trade subforum we have and see if there's anyone selling a Celeron 4xx or E1xxx series for cheap. Or even a Pentium Dual Core E2xxx series for cheap.

thats what ive been doing. ive found plenty of P4's but none that will work with my mobo. if checked here, OCforums, overclock.net and anandtech

well $20 is a little low for anything your suggesting. Those cpu's will be starting at the $50+ range.

Also look for used "Pentium Dual-Core" chips, such as the E2160, E2180, etc. Despite the Pentium branding they are Core2 based processors.

i found an e2180 on ebay. 16hrs left, one bid at $0.99. im waiting on bidding till the 5 minute mark. hopefully i can get it.
