Hello

I would like to know wether a 700 Watts (thermaltake) PSU is enough for the following setup:

Asus Rampage Motherboard
Intel QX9650 CPU (3.0GHz Extreme Edition 12mb cache)
2 x 2Gb DDr2 Memory
1x ATI Radeon 3870 X2
1xSeagate 1TB HDD
1xDVD/CD

Thank you.

quality is more important than maximum wattage. that psu is more than enough if its the toughpower series.

there are plenty of psu's that claim large maximum wattages but still kill components due to being poorly engineered and generating dirty power (inexplicable power lows).

and if it's not tough power series ?

Well are you asking whether or not a Thermaltake 700W PSU is good enough for your system? Or are you asking if a 700W PSU is good enough for your system?

And AFAIK, all of Thermaltake's 700W PSUs are Toughpowers. So if you have or plan on getting a Toughpower, you're set. Besides the Toughpowers, Thermaltake's Purepower RX line of PSUs are pretty good.

A good quality 700W PSU from an excellent PSU company (Corsair, PC P&C, Seasonic, Thermaltake Toughpower, Enhance, etc) more than enough for your system.

it'll power it with more than enough room to spare!
personally i would go with a different brand however, as my toughpower 750 watt is a tad on the noisy side, but other than that, works great!
