6900xt getting really hot. Normal?

I just upgraded to a water cooled 6900xt. I have it and a 5800x on a loop with a 280mm radiator and a thick 240mm one. The "hot spot" hits just shy of 100°C while the gpu is just below 90°. My 5800x gets up to about 80°. The fans are pumping out some heat, but should I be concerned? I don't believe it's throttling, but I haven't really dug in too deep yet.

Do I just not have enough cooling for this card?

Is your pump running at full speed? Is the case super cramped? If the whole loop is hot then maybe water isn’t cycling enough. Those rads ‘should’ be ok for that cpu and gpu combo.

Shitty picture, but it's definitely not cramped. Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad I'm not crazy, but I'm not looking forward to breaking this down again to replace the pump. 😭

You might try some better fans too, I have a pile of those bitspower ones and they are absolute trash.

Just another idea, you may also have to look at splitting those blocks and cleaning the insides. You have colored coolant which eventually builds up especially in the microchannels and restricts flow.
The xt is new. https://a.co/d/09gwk1PL
But it wouldn't surprise me if the cpu block is caked. I've tried to purge the dye, but it's resilient. Lol.

sounds like youve got mounting problems or really poor flow.

Less than 20° no to undervolt, but it's not a bad idea

Pretty much instantly.
that delta sounds fine to me, my 6700 is like that, depending on what im playing.
check your mounting and flow. if you leave the res lower than half you should see a good whirl pool.

That is a mounting issue.
A block has enough thermal mass that you could run it dry and it will take a minute or more to for core temps to reach tjmax.

Yea, it's flow. I'm only getting a trickle through the line. I'm not sure if it's a restriction or bad pump yet, but I am glad I asked.

If it's vibrating it's probably restriction, but if it's that bad you may need a new pump soon.

Obligatory comment that undervolting does not necessarily lead to lower power usage. If you don't see the temps (during heavy usage) drop after an undervolt, restrict the power limit of the card.

Have you confirmed that the water block is making solid contact with the GPU silicon?
