6850x2 (CF) or 6970

I was about to pull the trigger on a 6970 and then i came across This http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1569405 thread. I have 3x22'' monitors at 1680x1050 and wanted to upgrade my video card/cards for eyefinity. So i just wanted some input on which is the best choice for my setup from those who have received their 6970's and are gaming in eyefinity and those running 6850x2 (CF) in eyefinity. thanks.

6970 x 2 or wait 1 month for the 6990. That card's msrp may be $499.99! or close but not quite $600. That's a hunch of mine.

i was just going to get one 6970 but after seeing the benchmarks of two 6850's in crossfire for the same price is really making the decision harder...

They didn't test BC2.. but I would say, the performance in STALKER is an indicator that you will want to get a 6970 to be on the safe side.
