which ati card matches a 6800nu with 4 unlocked pipes and shader in performance?
 
no, an overclocked 6800nu (like 400+/900+) is close to a x800pro (- 128mb). an unlocked 6800nu @ 350+ is close to a x800xt (-128mb).

I guess if you're just going to go by the raw numbers. But each card specializes in different things.

This person wants ATi, so I'm willing to assume he wants to play source games. The x800pro is the closest thing to that price/performance with the exception of the PCI-e only x800xl.


Do you want AGP or PCI-e? If PCI-e, then you can't compare to an unlocked 6800 since you can't unlock the pci-e 6800's.

You can't unlock the PCI-e's but they have 256MB instead of 128MB.
 
Unlocked and OCed, the 6800 at 128 is not comparable to an X800 XT, not when the resolutions get high.

It's a dicey question, because ATI's high midrange isn't exactly executed.

You have a stange definition of "close." It is close to a 6800GT, which is close to a 6800U which is very close to an X800XT.

Sort of. I have an unlocked/OCd 6800NU (going back in my 5 year olds machine soon) and I had a 6800GT. On my A64 3000+, the unlocking/OCing split the difference in performance. (e.g. if it was 50 vs 70, now the NU would be at 60)

I posted some benches at AT you could dig up easily enough.
 
well i'm looking at agp but not just for source games but any game that's out right now and games in the future?
