Firstly, hello people this is my first post in the [H]ard Forums
I have a Gainward 6800 GT GS and I have never encountered any problems with this card (well apart from some ridiculously high overclocking attempts....). I am running it at 400/1100 as in sig and it was always stable. My idle temp is somewhere between 50-54 and the highest, using rhdribl for about half an hour was 77-78. These are not fantastic temps but I believe them to be quite reasonable, right? After trying the Republic Commando demo I went ahead and bought it. The demo ran flawlessly and that seemed to be the case with the full game......for the first 15 mins.....
. After that period the game froze and the screen was distorted with a RGB pattern . I said to myself oh well, and restarted the game again while monitoring temps at the same time. After some time I saw that the temps reached 82 C (even rhdribl can't reach that temps) and again the game froze. I started testing with other (much more graphics intensive games)games: Doom 3 8x AA and 16 AA Max quality, farcry in MAX settings and HL2 in MAX 4AA and 16 AF (all of them in 1280x1024) with even a little overclocking 420/1140 and guess what... max temp was 75 and no problems at all whatsoever FFS!!!!!!
So what do you make of this? Any suggestions as to why it happens only with Republic Commando?
P.S. I am using 71.84s
