Hello Hard OCPers!

I'm a long time lurker, but I haven't posted here before, so if this is the wrong area, m apologies.

I'm in the market for a new laptop, as my current laptop is older than the hills and spec wise is...horrible (AMD Turion X2@ 1.9 Ghz, nVidia 6150/730M (768 MB shared RAM), 2 GB DDR2 667, 120 GB HDD).

I'm looking at: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-AS7741G-6426-17-3-Inch-Laptop-Black/dp/B004G5ZXH0

For the price it seems like it would double or triple my performance in every category. I am curious what type of gaming performance I will get out of this. I'm assuming with the lower screen res (1600 x 900) that I should be able to run most things at medium, if not, high settings.

Has anyone used/have any experience with this? I know it's low-end for this board, but figured it was worth a shot.

You should be fine, games like battlefield bad company 2 most likely wont run on high settings but should still be very playable.

that is my intended laptop as well. Laptop reviews does a good job of describing all the mobile GPUs.

6650m is a lower clocked DDR3 variant of Turks - basically, 480SP, 600MHz or so core clocks. Probably around HD4670 (desktop) performance.Capable of maxing out most games at midrange notebook res (13xx/768), depending on the CPU.
