I just finished my build (signature) and am loading the OS. I am at my retail store but I will bring her home when done and post pics, benchies etv as time marches on. I am posting for posterity and becuase I am thrilled everything booted first time with no issues. The Nv raid is much easier and less finiky to configure than the ICH5R on my last board.

The 3500 is purring like a kitten. I am a little confused on the AMD hypertransport settings so i left it Auto for now. I also left the Ram timings auto for now since I am not sure what to use just yet.( the sequence is diff than my last board.) I will tweak after succesfull burn in.
 
I took a bunch but i am still at work.This shit cost alot of money so I need to earn a living to pay for it lol . I will post later tonight some time around 9 pm I just finished SP2 and now its time to start installing all my software , i will never get to benchies tonight but the pics will be here
 
Must .....see....now! im looking at this card too, try hl2 on it and other things, also what brand you get

I am going to download 2005 rea; qick for a teaser. Rember she just got up and running and i have done zero tweaking stand by
 
3dmark2005 no tweaks all bios setting auto

default resolution score: 3110

booted to cmos and went manual on ram timings and drop ram voltage from 2.80 to 2.75

ran it 2-2-2-6 and auto for the last value,

3dmark 2005 score went to 5910 , thats real close to may p4 3.2 and the Ultra I had.

I will need to research the hypertransport setting (currently auto) Its alien to me but i suspect i can get even more performance by going manual there.

This is fun, something new, I was so bored with my P4 rig

Wow that is quite a leap, and all you changed were you system ram timings?
 
I doubt about it. I think first result was only with 1vid card, second (5910) was in SLi? Cos you dont get that much boost with lower timings on ram. Well, not in 05.

Btw, is looks 1337!

One question: Where do you get that "SLI connector" ? With a m0b0, or a SLi vidcard?
 
Iswear to god all i did was change the timings

1st run i did with load balanceing showing and it was dog slow so i stopped the bench
2nd run i disabled "show load balancing" and got 3110
3rd run i went manual on the timings and bam!!!!
I will say this, the mushkin spd did not work properly on my p4c-800-E , i had to go manual just to get it to boot to windows

I suspect the timins were so relaxed that my new rig was choking?

I set the sli profile for 3dmark 2005 on all runs and explorer.exe was "end tasked"

Came with the mobo. If the mobo does not suppply it means the company is not SLI certified

Damn that is fast imagine if you put a fx55 and two 6800 ultras and 2 76gig raptors... Up the roof... Since you put in so much already, whats another 2 grand.... heheheh

Actually thats the plan, at least the raptor and Ultra part. I did detect your saracasm but try to remember that everything is relative. I am posting the benchies becuase people are interested in the results.

I personlaly dont go crazy with benchies except when i set up my rig initially for the sake of comparisons while tweeking settings.


Then thats it , on to gaming.I dont revisit benchies again. So spare me the sarcasm , and or the resentment.

great scores, certainly reassures me that the gt's will hold me over till the ultras become available. I should be ordering them today.

What sarcasm? What I meant was I would of went all out... I don't need to resent you or anyone here.. I may not have the fastest system here but I am happy with what I have and I am also happy for you... Have fun with your system and keep us updated...

Its all good, I inferred you were lamenting on what may have been over expenditure on my part.

Sorry for the misunderstaning. To address your intention, Ifully intend to go Ultra or at least 6800GT once they are available

Update , Dual display , at least on my config only works if i run a video cable out from each card to the respective screens. Wierd

I chose a demanding map and took a couple of sceenies under fire. 6600gtx2 sli 2x AA
1650x 1080 with one of the shots croped

Oh shit i forgot to enable SLI

Well edit time stand by i will do sli shots next


You can see here that they are taking a hit wih only 128 meg of ram , i cant wait till the 6800s are available. Game play still very smooth despite the lower frame rate you see.

I can not get 1600x1050 or 1600x900 Widescreen Aspect Ratio's resolution working correctly with SLI enabled on my Dell 2005FPW. (It acts like there is a refresh sync problem).

I can only run CS:Source or HL2 succesfully with 4:3 resolutions (1280x1024) on my Dell 2005FPW.

Yes , uising the 66.93's It was wierd i set to 16x10 aspect ratio and she locked up and droped to 800x600 , I rebooted and no issues. Make sure you go to sli CP and set the profile for HL2

Remember your screen is 16x 10 aspoect ratio and not 16x 9
 
Ok I started with Ultra and FPs was pretty good but the thing was unplayable it hitched so much. (lack of frame buffer memory) I dropped down to High qualilyt 1280x 1024 2x AA and she went smootha s butter

Only thing that I have really noticed between High and Ultra high are some extra boxes stacked around the levels that you can interact with.
 
What are you benching in the Doom3 timedemo? I would like to compare to my system. You can run the time demo by hitting ctrl + alt + ~ which will take you into the console. Then type ' timedemo demo1 ' (no ' )

Right now on my XP-M OC @ 2.5ghz + 6600GT OC @ 570mhz/1.17ghz I bench 65fps on the timedemo at 1280x1024 highquality setttings.
