got a q6600 at 3.6 ghz with 1.43v is 63C a safe temp? forgot to add this is under 100% load with prime 95 on all 4 cores
 
If its a GO, 63 is fine..its a bit hotter than most would like to see, but its acceptable according to Intel.

Are you using the stock cooler?
 
Its with a thermalright ultra 120 lapped and a 12cm panaflo fan the cpu core is also lapped i have tried reseating the heatsink many times but the temps always top out at like 60-64 and i am using artic silver 5 maybe i should wait and see if the 200 hour setting time makes a difference? and those readings are from coretemp
 
Well, if those readings are in CoreTemp then the temps are quite acceptable. May want to wait and see if the AS5 curing time lowers them a bit, but if it doesn't then not to worry.
 
So should I be worried?

Everyone always talks how it shouldn't go over 71 C, and mine just ran over night hotter than that. Ambient is around ~25 C. This is the first time I've gotten it to Prime overnight at 3.6Ghz..I never dared goto 1.4v when I was already hitting 70 C. Well, I dared and it did it just fine it seems. I played CoD4 for a couple hours before Priming also.

I don't get it.
 
I disabled CPU TM and Intel Speedstep in my Maximus Formula bios to rule clock throttling out..because before I pushed to 1.4v, it seemed to hit 72 C and the computer would just restart. No errors in Prime, not a hard lock, just restart. "Automatically Restart" is unchecked in System Properties-->Advanced Tab --> Startup & Recovery Settings also.
